CORNERSTONE

God's transcendence means that he is completely set apart from his creation and there is no one else like him. We hope that aspect of his nature is apparent in worship. His immanence refers to his condescension to draw near to people. We hope that aspect of his nature is also apparent. The Lord must be exalted accordingly to his unique glory. But he has also condescended to reveal himself and to enter into a relationship with us, especially in Jesus Christ. We gather together corporately to worship God and not ourselves.  <<BACK>>
