Dr. Brian Lee has written about the church’s involvement in the political debate concerning abortion (HT: the Heidelblog). I said a couple of days ago that I worry that the church may lose its moral bearings regarding abortion. Nevertheless, I think Dr. Lee raises some vitally important questions about how Christians and the church ought to engage our society when it comes to this important issue. His article provides much needed guidance for considering the most productive ways to address abortion. We must not only speak truthfully about abortion, but do so in a way that preserves the church’s unique role as salt and light in the world.
