Sermon Prep

Rev. Iain Campbell has an interesting post about sermon prep here. I’m glad I’m not the only one who never feels “ready” to preach a sermon. Like Rev. Campbell, I try to be thorough in my preparation. Nevertheless, I have often told people that as far as I’m concerned a sermon is never really “done.” It just comes time to give it. I once read that Spurgeon used to enter the pulpit thinking to himself, “I believe in the Holy Spirit…I believe in the Holy Spirit….” That seems like a healthy practice to me!
