Essential to our understanding of the Christian faith is that God blesses in order to make us a blessing to others. We endeavor to be a church that blesses the people of Castle Rock. We’re convinced that the most important and extraordinary thing we have to offer is the good news of Jesus Christ. We enthusiastically seek and welcome those interested in exploring historic Christianity, even if you’ve never been part of a church in the past. We desire that everyone know the joy that is found in Jesus Christ.
So what are our distinctives? To begin with, we believe that the Christian faith provides unique resources for vibrant community. Consequently we are a welcoming church that values meaningful connection with each other molded by our faith in Jesus Christ. We’re smaller than other churches. Far from our size being a liability, it affords rich opportunity to know and be known in a context of vital relationships.
We’re also a church that embraces the historic Christian faith. The truths of the Bible are supremely relevant to life in the 21st century. But the Christian faith wasn’t invented in the last few years. Our understanding draws upon the rich resources of Christians who have gone before us in centuries past. The historic creeds, the early church councils, and the confessional statements of the Protestant Reformation especially define us.
Finally, we dare to trust that God uses the simple means commended in the Scriptures to shape us into the people He wants us to be. He uses His word, the sacraments, and prayer to accomplish His purposes in our lives. These things are sufficient, and if we will attend to them, God will use them to fulfill His promises in us. We look to Him to use these ordinary things to accomplish the extraordinary.
Whether you resonate with these distinctives, or you’re looking to examine historic Christianity, we warmly invite you to connect with us.
