Cornerstone Presbyterian Church believes that church membership is an important aspect of the Christian life, and we encourage you to become a member. Just as marriage is formalized and protected by a ceremony that includes vows to fidelity, so also church membership entails a formal commitment to Christ and His body.
There are three basic requirements for membership at Cornerstone:
- A Credible profession of faith in Jesus Christ as revealed in the Scriptures.
- A commitment to a life of repentance and growing conformity to the image of Christ.
- A promise to support the church in its worship and work, and to submit to it’s governing authority in spiritual matters.
As you consider membership, we invite you to take our membership class. The class will orient you to our beliefs as a church, and go into more detail about membership and what it entails. If you are interested in becoming a member, please contact pastor Shawn or one of the elders, and we will make the necessary arrangements. The final step in the process will involve an interview with the session (the body of active elders) to give your profession of faith, and also to assent to the membership questions.
